Eloocharis Hairgrass

This carpet plant grows 4-7 CM in height and it is smaller than Eloocharis Parvula. If the aquarists distribute this plant in small pieces and after a short while all of the area will be covered with this plant. Strong lighting is necessary for this plant and rarely needs trimming.

Hemianthus Callitrichoides ‘Cuba’

Hemianthus Callitrichoides 'Cuba' is a carpet plant which has small leaves and also can be used in the foreground of the tank. This plant should be planted in a smooth and rich substrate, then the roots can grow easily.  It covers the ground of the aquarium when it grows and it can be planted in any type of aquarium. High level of CO2 is recommended for this carpet plant, otherwise it will lose its beautiful appearance. This carpet plant is very small, so your tank should have a good water circulation.

Micranthemum Micranthemoides

The plant species Micranthemum Micranthemoides otherwise known as Hemianthus Micranthemoides often grows in the moist areas (banks of river) or in ponds in its natural habitat (West Indies and United States). The creepy emersed plant has slender stems on which 3-4 narrowly lanceolate leaves (less than 1 CM long) in whorls and can grow only about 0.5 CM in height. The submerged plant produce erect stems which can grow up to 15 CM in the aquarium. The lime green foliage is very decorative and should be trimmed often to keep its bushy form. Sagittaria Pusillus

The 30 odd species belonging to this genus are commonly known as arrowhead. They have tuberous rhizome which remain buried in the soil. This plant has narrow green leaves which make it much attractive. Leaves are usually 3-5 CM.

Staurogyne Repens

Staurogyne is a beautiful light green colour plant which resembles to Hygrophila and is suitable for foreground using in the aquarium. It has small green leaves which are lanceolate and it produces small white flowers. This plant originally is from Brazil. Staurogyne Repens requires strong lighting and CO2 injection. It grows 3-10 CM in height and 5-10 CM broad. Staurogyne Repens provides oxygen to water and can help to balance it. You can propogate this plant by cutting its shoots.
